As our Onboarding Specialist at Solar Transport Inc., you'll be responsible for developing and refining our onboarding program, scheduling orientations by region, conducting follow-ups, managing drivers' uniforms and PPE, and maintaining accurate records. With up to 50% travel required, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that every new hire feels supported from day one. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine Solar’s onboarding program that effectively integrates new hires into company culture and their specific job roles by delivering an excellent onboarding experience
- Set expectations for excellence in safety and job performance
- Responsible for scheduling orientations by region, collaborating with recruiters and hiring managers, and coordinating travel to ensure drivers have a seamless experience
- Conduct 30/60/90-day follow-ups to ensure drivers support and address any needs by elevating to department management
- Order and maintain all drivers’ uniforms, PPE, and any other job specific items
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of onboarding activities and documentation
- Up to 50% travel as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
- Ensures compliance with departmental and company-established guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications: Experience
- 3+ yrs. experience in a role specializing in recruitment and onboarding
- Experience in the trucking industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications: Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills
- Practice operating independently without the need for continuous oversight or direction
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and balance competing needs
- A history of taking the initiative to identify and solve work-related problems
- Experience in exercising initiative and sound judgment in decision-making
