Regional Safety Supervisor - Solar Transport

Solar Transport is looking to add a Regional Safety Supervisor to the team! The Safety Supervisor will be the primary safety related subject matter expert for their assigned operational region. This position will provide leadership support, clear and accurate training, and act as a primary investigator into issues of non-compliance, injuries, and collisions. What you’ll do

  • Provide support to Drivers by maintaining a visible presence to the field while performing job observations throughout the assigned region
  • Assist in coaching, mentoring, and implementation of the HS&E programs in the field
  • Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable industry standards and federal regulations to ensure compliance with company policies 
  • Ensure all accidents are reported immediately, thoroughly investigated within prescribed timelines and create corrective action plans created to counter discovered root causes
  • Travel throughout assigned region to conduct site risk assessments, equipment inspections, conduct employee engagement activities, and identify hazards to reduce risk to employees
  • Partner with the Regional Managers, and Regional Fleet Assistants and lead in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective action plans for collisions, injuries, and issues of non-compliance
  • Engage, coach, and assist the Drivers to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met

Other key requirements

  • Knowledge of DOT hiring rules and regulations, required
  • Recent experience in bulk fuel transportation
  • Class A CDL, tanker and hazmat endorsement or related experience, required
  • Relocation to the Des Moines, IA area or Springfield, MO area required
