Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a new opportunity to create value across multiple functions in a retail organization?

Kum & Go is looking for a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our amazing finance team. In this role, you’ll lead Kum & Go’s analysis and financial forecasting and planning processes while being a key member of our CFO’s team. You’ll use your business acumen and strategic approach to financial planning to support a variety of our departments with their financial planning needs. This role will have a high-level of exposure to our Extended Leadership Team and will be looked upon to make significant contributions to the overall success of Kum & Go.

The ideal candidate will have a wide array of analytical and financial modeling techniques to provide historical, current, and predictive views of business operations to support key decisions across the Kum & Go organization. Working cross-functionally across the organization, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will manage analytical topics and research to best support departments in financial decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Perform self-initiated financial analysis to evaluate trends, model future behavior, support capital allocation decision, and create insights to drive financial return and success

  • Identify, vet, and propose solutions to complex financial issues

  • Led corporate budgeting and forecasting including annual budget, ten-year projections, and key performance measures

  • Develop data reporting strategies to provide critical information to stores, operations, and other key departments

  • Prepare and distribute management reports emphasizing operational and financial performance metrics, historical results, budgets, forecasts, and trends to enable accountability across Kum & Go

What we’re looking for

  • Hands-on, able to dig into complex intersections of data to draw conclusions and propose creative solutions

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, highly inquisitive

  • Strategic thinking

  • Financial modeling and analysis knowledge; mastery of concepts such as IRR, ROI, cash flows

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Ability to design and produce sophisticated charts, graphs, etc. to create executive-level presentations

  • Collaborative working style and strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Other key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred

  • MBA and/or CPA preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Analysis

  • Relocation to the Des Moines, IA area is required
